Gucci Launches Mickey Mouse Collaboration for Chinese New Year

The Gucci brand and Walt Disney‘s iconic Mickey Mouse have quite the history together. The delightful cartoon character of all of our collective childhood has appeared on the designer’s fashion and accessory launches of past, present, and future. And now, the new Gucci Mickey Mouse collection is going to help us welcome in the new Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rat.
This appropriately-themed capsule from the Gucci Cruise 2020 collection by Alessandro Michele comes in timing with the Lunar New Year, which will be celebrated on January 25, 2020.

For the collection’s campaign, Gucci tapped brand ambassador and actress Ni Ni, poet and stylist Zoë Bleu, and actor Earl Cave to shoot lookbook images at Disneyland. All of the stars got to meet Disney characters, ride theme park rides, and visit all kinds of colorful park attractions while showing off their festive New Year gear.
The ready-to-wear range is all about creative accessories, like printed handbags, cartoon-adorned sneakers, and colorful scarves. There are also beautiful printed separates, cozy (and retro-inspired) knit sweaters, and logo sweatshirts that pay tribute to Mickey Mouse in style.
The full Gucci Mickey Mouse range will launch online on January 3, and be available at select brand stores and retailers worldwide.
