Burberry Unveils Chinese New Year Collection

This Lunar New Year will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25, 2020, and the Burberry fashion house is already commemorating the occasion with a special edition Burberry Chinese New Year capsule collection by Riccardo Tisci. This Lunar New Year will mark the Year of the Rat, so the designer label’s newest fashion and accessories launches for men, women, and children are directly inspired by the Chinese zodiac.
Burberry calls this exciting winter range “a vibrant celebration in red – heralding joy, health and happiness for the Year of the Rat.”

The collection is all about “refined tailoring and fresh iterations of our iconic sneaker, the Union, and Lola, our runway bag,” according to the brand. It also features silk scarves, stylish handbags, quilted backpacks, logo baseball caps, sleek blouses and suits, and more standout pieces.
In addition to original illustrations like new zodiac-themed artwork, and elegant touches of that signature Burberry plaid striping, the collection includes several pieces adorned with a limited-edition version of the Thomas Burberry monogram. It features one of Tisci’s favorite symbols, a five-pointed star.
For the season’s campaign, Burberry tapped 27-year-old Chinese actress and designer brand ambassador Zhou Dongyu to star alongside models He Cong and Liang Jjiyuan. The full collection is now available to shop in select boutiques and on the brand’s website.
