As we are all nearing the beginning of a new decade, our minds are naturally nostalgic while we are also trying to stay focused on the future. One question remaining on our minds, as far as fashion is concerned, is: can the popular retro styles we all crave right now also be futuristic and fresh? The newly-debuted Kate Spade Resort 2020 collection says yes.
The era-blending season lookbook is full of references to style decades past. From glittery go-go boots to sequined separates and prim patterned prairie dresses, the label references top styles and silhouettes of the 60s, 70s, and beyond.
Of course, every Kate Spade collection is amped up several notches through the use of playful and fun accessories. Colorful, glittery headbands accent many of the pretty lookbook images showcasing the line. Playful prints adorn the latest selection of handbags, clutches, and crossbody bags. All in all, the season is all about fun moments to celebrate.
“Our customer is looking for special pieces this time of year,” Kate Spade designer Nicola Glass said at a collection preview, via Vogue. “[Like] things for holiday parties that feel positive, optimistic, fun.”
