Justin Warshaw Says Justin Alexander’s NYBFW Collection Is All About the Drama – Video Interview
If Justin Warshaw’s height is any indication of his talent, then the 2018 Justin Alexander Spring Bridal Collection towers over most. Richard Magazine caught up with brand designer and president at The Knot Couture Show at New York Bridal Fashion Week, where he dished all about his latest showings.
The newest Justin Alexander collection is all about the drama. “So our Fall/Winter 2018 collection is drama by silhouette, simplicity and embellishment. We’re showing voluminous silhouettes, linear beadwork, 3D flowers and floral laces to complement modern and architectural styles.”
Justin and his team design according to how they want the gowns to be worn. However, they understand how customization is important to making a bride’s dress dream come true. “What we design is how we intend our dresses to be worn, but when a bride is in store, we do offer customizations. So if a sleeve needs to be removed or a neckline changed or a fabric changed, we can do it.”
His favorite dress? “That’s a tough question, I have many favorites. This season, one of my favorites is a tailored crepe top with a ‘T-shirt” as well as a little collar, and then it has a fit and flair floral lace skirt. It’s absolutely beautiful.” We nod our heads in solidarity on this one.
Who would he love to see in a Justin Alexander gown? “It’s sort of a random one, but I would go with Iskra Lawrence, she’s a British plus size model. And I think it would be really cool to dress her because I feel like she speaks for real women. She just walked in New York and Paris Fashion Week too.” A real woman empowering more real women is music to our ears.
