Britney Spears Is Named the New Face of Kenzo
Can you believe that it is 2018 and Britney Spears has just scored her first-ever high fashion campaign? That’s right: the 36-year-old pop superstar was just named the new celebrity face of Kenzo, and it’s the first time she has ever fronted her own luxe style shoot. She’s the perfect fit for this fun-spirited campaign, which “is all about icons.”
Kenzo’s new La Collection Memento N°2 “delves into the house’s rich history and storied archives,” a press release announced. The new pieces are inspired by Kenzo Jeans’ 1986 Paris runway debut, which was all about statement-making denim. The brand’s creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon “treat the vaults like a jumping off point—finding the strands, ideas, and ingenuity that particularly interest them and then rework, reinvent and revitalize.”

Enter: Britney, who “is certainly an icon and the quintessential queen of denim, [here] captured in all her American Dream glory and beauty.”
“This collection is very youthful,” Britney told Vogue in a new interview. “We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first. I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space, and this was on the street. We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd, but, of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”

For her colorful campaign photo shoot in Los Angeles, Britney rocked cropped logo tops, a printed co-ord set, a bright red mini backpack, denim jackets and briefs, matching baseball caps, and sporty thigh-high lace-up boots. Her looks are the perfect combination of retro-inspired late 90s and early 00s style, mixed with the modern athleisure-inspired styles we currently love so much.
