The Kooples brand selected the popular 25-year-old artist to be their first-ever male muse because he gives off that “rock-‘n’-roll and bold attitude,” that perfectly embodies the label’s urban rocker fashion aesthetic.
“For fall-winter 2018, we have chosen Zayn Malik, who perfectly embodies our style renewal toward more streetwear, oversized cuts and redesigned proportions,” Nicolas Dreyfus, The Kooples’ co-founder and CEO shared in a statement, via WWD. “He has a rebellious, tough attitude with a casual yet always elegant sense of style. Zayn is sexy, creative and charismatic and was deeply involved throughout the design and creation process.”
That’s right: Zayn isn’t just the smoldering model fronting the thrilling new fall season campaign: the musician has even personally co-designed the label’s debut collection of backpacks for men.
The Zayn Malik The Kooples collection currently consists of the Zayn Bi-Graphic Back-Pack ($495), the Zayn Back-Pack by The Kooples in Tartan Leather ($425), the Two-Tone Leather Zip Up ($495), and the Zayn Back-Pack in Graphic Leather and Camouflage or Graphic Two-Tone Leather ($495 each).
