Riccardo Tisci has already started on quite an influential path since taking over the role as Burberry creative director back in March 2018. Now, the designer took to social media to announce quite the exciting new project: “a unique collaboration between Burberry and Vivienne Westwood.”
Burberry shared a trio of black and white portraits featuring Tisci, Westwood, and Vivienne Westwood fashion brand creative director Andreas Kronthaler to announce the upcoming partnership. We can anticipate “a limited-edition collection of reimagined styles from [Westwood’s] legendary archive… launching December 2018,” according to the luxury British label.
“Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something,” Riccardo Tisci shared on Instagram. “She is a rebel, a punk and unrivaled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together.”
We can’t wait to see how these artists come together to create a truly spectacular debut. But this partnership is already off to a great start. The brands announced on social media that the Vivienne Westwood Burberry collaboration will also be in support of Cool Earth, a charity that “works alongside rainforest communities to halt forest destruction.” Giving back while looking ridiculously stylish is our absolute goal in life, so call us smitten.
