When it comes to extravagant designer wedding dresses, Vera Wang is simply a queen. Which is why it comes as no surprise to us that the Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2019 gown collection is full of regal inspirations. In fact, there are even literal bejeweled crows featured with her dresses in this season’s new lookbook. That’s just how at home in a palace these wedding styles feel.
The designer explained that inspiration from this 15-piece gown line was in fact drawn from 17th century ruler King Louis XIV and his French palace, Versailles. The epitome of luxury and high fashion.
“[King Louis XIV] was the first fashion rock star that ever lived,” Vera Wang told Vogue. “He was the original power dresser. He was obsessed with clothing. He enforced a strict dress code, [and] not only that, he enforced a strict behavioral code—but the clothing demanded a certain behavior.”
Nude and ivory tones are done in traditional lace and billowy chiffons in this collection, and there’s even a captivating baby blue dress worth keeping an eye out for.
These gorgeous creations feel like they could just as easily be coming down a high-fashion couture runway show catwalk as they could be walking down the aisle on a fashionista bride.

In addition to this beautiful gown collection, Vera Wang Bridal has also announced a luxurious team-up with Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group. These brands are collaborating to produce “Vera Wang Love,” a fine jewelry collection specifically made for the modern Chinese bride. Expect to find 18-karat gold engagement rings, platinum wedding bands, and more.
This line is set to debut on October 19 in Chow Tai Fook Shanghai stores. After the launch, you can expect to see the line in more big cities, like Beijing, Chengdu and Hong Kong.— Kristine Hope Kowalski
