You may love the Valentino brand best for its luxurious fashions, or its popular fragrance library – including the bestselling scents Valentino Donna, Valentino Uomo, and Valentina. But now, the Maison has officially partnered with L’Oreal on a worldwide licensing deal that will turn into a more complete Valentino beauty line in 2019.
“L’Oreal announces today the signature of a worldwide long-term license agreement with Maison Valentino for the creation, development, and distribution of fine fragrances and luxury beauty,” the cosmetics giant shared on its social media. We’re hoping this means glam cosmetics like lipsticks, compacts, nail polishes, and more – but for now, the brands aren’t sharing exact product details. Instead, both parties are focusing on how their rich brand histories have gotten them to this place.
“Founded in 1960 in Rome, Maison Valentino holds a unique role in the luxury universe thanks to its long standing tradition in Haute Couture and the innovative contemporary vision of Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli,” the brands shared in a press release. “Under the successful direction of CEO Stefano Sassi and Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, Valentino today embodies the image of beauty, of the extraordinary and of modernity, and as such, provides a strong inspiration for fragrance and beauty creation.”
Both L’Oreal and Valentino groups are excited to be taking their beauty influence to the next level with this global licensing partnership.
“With its unique combination of prestige and modernity, Valentino definitely will appeal to millennial consumers around the globe and ideally complements our brand portfolio,” Nicolas Hieronimus, Deputy CEO of L’Oreal, said in a statement. Valentino CEO Stefano Sassi added, “We believe Valentino has great potential within the category and that with L’Oréal’s unparalleled expertise in the sector, we will be able to realize that potential.”
