We love a good beauty-meets-fashion designer team-up, and the latest collaboration between French retailer The Kooples and cosmetics label Clarins is a great example of why. The Parisian brands teamed up on a mini launch of lip products that combine skin-saving ingredients with high-fashion color schemes.
The Kooples Clarins range consists of a Dark Stone Lip Oil and a Light Stone Lip Oil, selling for $26 each. You can wear each elixir on their own for a glossy and hydrating look, or add them on top of a lipstick to boost the shine level.
“Dark Stone is a little black dress, giving a sophisticated plum finish, with a pearlescent gold sheen,” the brand explained on its website. In contrast, Light Stone is described as “a white moiré silk scarf for the lips [which] enhances a smile with its light milky pink color.”
“Black, white and gold will remain set in stone. Use them with a single touch or play with contrasts. After all, opposites attract!” the brand added on Instagram. “One oil, two bold looks: this brand new couple will embellish and accessorize your smile.”
Both colors are formulated with hazelnut oil and jojoba vegetable oil. Additionally, Dark Stone features organic argan oil, and Light Stone uses organic coconut oil in its mix. The comfortable, non-sticky finish is said to adapt to your own lips’ pH level, for a custom finish you can wear all day long.
