This New York Fashion Week season, one of the most exciting runway shows hands-down was orchestrated by NYC-based fashion brand The Blonds. The label presented a positively evil Spring/Summer 2019 runway collection at Spring Studios, inspired by many of the most iconic Disney villains of them all. The entire event brought to life some of our childhood favorites – but in the most glamorous, couture way possible.
Characters like 101 Dalmations‘ Cruella de Vil, The Little Mermaid‘s Ursula the sea witch, Alice In Wonderland‘s Queen of Hearts, Sleeping Beauty‘s Maleficent, Princess and the Frog‘s Dr. Facilier, Snow White‘s Evil Queen, and many more were represented in this artistic and dramatic showing.
Details on the runway garments included wicked thorns, glowing acidic green, and poisoned apples. Several eye-catching pieces in this showing were actually created as a result of a collaboration between The Blonds, Disney, and designer Lauren Moshi.
Star models like heiress Paris Hilton, YouTube makeup guru and internet sensation Patrick Starrr, singer Shaun Ross, several actors from Ryan Murphy’s Pose, and many more participated in the show by walking the runway in The Blonds’ finest one-of-a-kind creations. You know they made a major statement with every step down the catwalk!
In addition to the over-the-top and elaborately designed fashions, The Blonds also teamed up with their collaborators, makeup brand MAC Cosmetics, to deliver bombshell beauty looks that really stood out on the runway.
Plus, CND Nails helped the designers create colorful and textured nail art inspired by characters like Ursula and her scaled minion sidekicks, Flotsam and Jetsam. The Oribe hair teams styled up models with spiky crowns and fun rainbow hair extensions to complete the head-to-toe villainous styles.
