You may know Steve Aoki best as an internationally renowned producer and DJ with a seriously awesome sense of personal style. But now, the 40-year-old electronic dance music star has been tapped as the celebrity face of Diesel‘s first-ever transparency watch campaign.
The new Steve Aoki x Diesel photo shoot images are here, and he looks so cool showing off the futuristic new wristwatch designs against a background of bright blue lights. Perfectly in theme with his upcoming album, Neon Future III.
This partnership came about thanks to the artist’s endless quest to find a new way to fuse his music with fashion and lifestyle trends.
“I’m constantly looking for ways to create and collaborate on unique and one-of-a-kind material, musically and artistically, whether it be through different brand collaborations, through my lifestyle and fashion brand Dim Mak or expanding my art collection,” Steve shared in a statement, via WWD. “My mind is always on overdrive, which allows me to develop my brand through various channels.”
The striking blue color of these transparent watches is reportedly inspired by the process of dyeing indigo, which references the fashion label’s rich denim history.
Although Steve didn’t personally design this watch line, “the creative… was orchestrated with my influence in mind, the clashing features and futuristic design of Diesel watches very much aligns with my style and aesthetics, on and off the stage,” he shared with the publication. “I plan on wearing my Diesel watches wherever I go, especially on tour, and it will be very much integrated into my active lifestyle.”
The Diesel transparency watch collection is made up of four different models, crafted with stainless steel or nylon cases and blue casings. Each wristwatch in the range is set to retail from between $140 and $240. You can find them at Diesel stores or select luxury retailers, like Dillard’s, Zalando, and Tmall.
