Starbucks Debuts Two Protein Blended Cold Brew Drinks

Have you ever been in mood where you couldn’t decide if you needed to wake yourself up with a coffee – or nourish your body with a protein drink? Thanks to the new Starbucks Protein Blended Cold Brew beverages, you no longer have to choose! The popular chain has unveiled two brand new certified vegan blends crafted with plant-based proteins (a mix of brown rice protein and pea protein). We’re breaking down the two new limited-edition menu items for you below!

Starbucks Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew

First up, there’s the Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew. This non-dairy drink is crafted from Starbucks’ signature Cold Brew concentrate, with added ice, 12 grams of plant-based protein, almond butter, almond milk, and banana-date sweetener. There’s no refined sugar in this mix, but it’s sweet thanks to the fruity blend. And yes, it’s really vegan.

“Plant-based beverages, plant-based proteins are a choice that many consumers are gravitating toward,” Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson shared in a statement.

Then, there’s the Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew to obsess over. It is also made with the same cold brew and banana-date sweeter, but instead of almond milks, there’s coconut milk and cacao powder. This one’s packed with 10 grams of plant-based protein.

Both of these drink options will be available in Starbucks locations throughout the United States and Canada starting on August 14. Each beverage is set to cost $5.95 for a Grande size – and for now, they will only be available through the fall season, while supplies last.

If you want to try the new protein powder without indulging in one of these two mixed beverages, customers can also request that a shot of the protein be added into another different drink.
