Gender-neutral clothing isn’t so much a trend in fashion as it is a prominent societal movement. But we do love seeing the fashion world’s artistic interpretation of what’s ahead, which is why we absolutely must spotlight the innovative and exciting Natasha Zinko Pre-Fall 2019 collection.
Ukraine-born, London-based designer Natasha Zinko‘s latest pieces are the result of a crossover between her menswear and womenswear collections. Her brand’s new lookbook is full of ways to mix, match, and gender-swap styles for your own custom effect – which she notes is a key element in crafting street styles.
“I’m always taking my husband’s clothes and he takes mine. No one cares anymore, especially when it comes to streetwear,” Zinko said, via WWD.
There’s another family inspiration at play in this brand as well: the designer’s 11-year-old son Ivan also lends some of his style sensibilities to the designs as well.
In addition to its androgynous styling, this Natasha Zinko Pre-Fall 2019 also puts a sharp focus on sustainability – another buzzword in the fashion industry that speaks to a larger, future-driven societal change. To make the garments in the new range more sustainable, she reworked materials from older collections to create brand new styles. Note the deconstructed denims and meshed-together layers as standout examples of this practice.
