Mimi Tran – NYFW Spring 2018 Ready-To-Wear
Designer Mimi Tran is living up to her reputation for styles that make a woman, feel like a woman, in curve-accentuating comfort.
Although her California company, MIMI Tran, brought style versatility to the Carol Galvin Foundation Gala, the common thread was the attention to feminine curves. Especially, the comfort factor she is known to infuse into her designs. Her customers want glamour and elegance. As well as, the luxuriant materials that make wearing the look, a pleasure.
Short shorts became high fashion when teamed up with flower appliques or a gold-infused jacket for a shimmering effect. She kept the short set, but also incorporated a long wrap-around half cape. An elegant look that can be worn every day. Sheer material proved to be popular in the designs as well. One of the most dramatic styles was a blue pants suit that used sheer material to show off glittery highlights and lots of leg. As for eveningwear, a gown of flowing purple silk brought a striking richness that was bound to turn heads.
Not every designer holds an MBA in international business management, but Tran couldn’t help but follow her artistic side into the fashion world. She started with form-fitting cocktail dresses, but now has a full line of fashion. All with her signature fabrics, textures, and beading. Her creative expressions highlight what is best about dressing all types of feminine figures. We can’t wait to see what designs she has in store.
