This holiday season, luxury leather goods brand MCM released their dazzling new “The Give & Get Down” campaign. Showcasing the line’s shoppable gift options, the festive ads take place at a New York City party, amidst neon lights and sparkling decorations. The multi-platform launch features Kacy Hill, Les Twins, Barbie Ferriera, Chelsea Miller, Hua Tsai, Sharlene Rädlein, Gabriel Vieira, Derek Drummond, Zikale, and more influencers – all toasting one another while celebrating unity and inclusivity during this season of giving.
Richard Magazine spoke with Rita Shukhman, the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for MCM Americas, to hear the story behind the MCM Holiday campaign. You can find our exclusive Q&A below.
This campaign is driven by messages of unity – why was this an important statement you wanted to make, especially around the holidays?
Celebrating diversity, unity and friendship during this holiday season, we wanted to create a festive and light-hearted video that embodies a genuine sense of fun and giving amongst friends. With this campaign video, MCM tells its new school luxury story through fresh and playful self-expression. The music is upbeat, the crowd is cool, the gifts are chic and we learn in the end the best gift to give for the holidays is always the gift of good vibes.
What was the atmosphere like on set of the campaign shoot?
While we were filming the campaign, everyone was laughing, singing along and having an amazing time. The room was full of electric house party beats among a cool crowd of kids. Good laughs and great dance moves filled the apartment with contagious energy from sunrise to sunset. It truly felt like the best party in NYC was going on right at that very moment.
Can you tell us about how the campaign visuals bring the latest collection to life?
MCM loves to incorporate whimsical elements to each collection so that consumers can have fun with fashion year-round. The 2017 Festive Campaign images show how these luxury pieces can be worn in various approachable ways to any social event.
What advice would you share for our readers on putting together a statement-making holiday outfit?
Have fun with your style! There’s no need to go out and buy a whole new outfit. Throw on a statement blazer or leather jacket and a fun bag can transform any look. And don’t forget to add a splash of your unique personality to bring it all together.
