Martina Mudra – NYFW Spring 2018 Formal Wear

Formal wear can have a playful side, and even inspire a night of fantasy. Which is exactly what Martina Mudra achieved with her Couture Fashion Week collection.

Martina Mudra’s collection conjured up images of an Arabian princess, flamingo dancers, and a medieval temptress in black — all to be worn in the spirit of glitz and adventure. The Arabian princess gown took elegance of style to royal heights. The model’s silk gown was topped with a flowing sheer material embellished with silver beaded flowers to make the fantasy complete.

Heads also turned for two flamingo-style dresses that were each styled with vibrant red and black. And for the bride, there was an off-the-shoulder silk wedding dress with long puffed sleeves, as well as, a sleeker gown with a train of delicately patterned lace.

Two black gowns that didn’t have much in common except their color. One had a sparkle effect and came together in a jewel-like belt at the waist, giving a medieval vibe to this provocative number. The other bore a look of sleeveless velvet with a silver-studded high neckline and a sheer flowing cape to take on the catwalk like a queen.

A tiara added the drama that one might expect from Mudra, an opera singer now gracing the fashion world with her designs.
