Fashion designer Maggie Hewitt of Maggie Marilyn made her solo runway show debut at The Glasshouse this New Zealand Fashion Week 2019 season. The 24-year-old designer presented modern wardrobe essentials and the edgy pieces we can’t wait to shop ourselves. Colorful and effortlessly cool ready-to-wear designs – which particularly showcase Hewitt’s personal aesthetic wonderfully – ruled the catwalk.
“I’m not highly conceptual as a designer. I know what works and what doesn’t. But the sustainability message is and always will be a key message for the brand,” the designer shared about the show, via the New Zealand Herald. “There’s a beautiful print, and the show pieces takes me back to my uni days where I could just design to my heart’s content.”
In just a few short seasons, the Maggie Marilyn label has already been worn by many top international fashion influencers, like Kendall Jenner, Kate Hudson, and the Duchess of Sussex. We can easily see this brand taking off even further on the global shopping stages – especially once these beautiful garments become available worldwide.
