The MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam campaign is one of the beauty brand’s most popular recurring collaborations. Each season, the brand partners with a high-profile celebrity to design a custom lipstick shade. Every cent of the selling price of these products is donated to the MAC AIDS Fund, a charity that supports people living with HIV/AIDS worldwide. In honor of World AIDS Day this December 1, MAC Cosmetics revealed that their latest Viva Glam lip product was designed by the singer Sia.
MAC Cosmetics also revealed a first look at the singer’s first campaign imagery for her collaboration. Though the star is known for covering her face while performing, she models her custom red lip shade in one of her promotional photos.
The devilish red hue is echoed in Sia’s own graphic signature in the campaign as well. This statement-making shade is reportedly “meant to speak to the artist’s avant-garde style and boundary pushing persona.”
This is Sia’s first-ever collaboration with the MAC Cosmetics brand. But she joins a long list of ultra talented artists who have worked on the Viva Glam campaign. Stars like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Fergie, Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj, and tons more have previously designed custom shades for the cause. Over the years, the Viva Glam products have helped raise almost $500 million for the cause. How incredible is that?
Sia’s particular lipstick shade will be for sale for $17 at select MAC locations starting on January 25, 2018.
But if you want to support the cause immediately this holiday season, you can still pick up some of the past MAC Viva Glam shades on the brand’s website now. No matter what time of year you shop a celeb-designed Viva Glam product, all sales support the worthy cause!— Kristine Hope Kowalski
