Kerry Washington may be one of the most effortlessly glamorous actresses around. But now, she’s letting us all in on some of her makeup secrets – through her first-ever beauty product collaboration with Neutrogena. The Scandal star has been the celebrity face of the cosmetics company for the past five years, but now she has become a brand creative consultant who worked on creating the label’s two latest eye and cheek palettes.
“On a busy day, if I keep these two essential palettes in my purse at all times — I can have other products that I toss in and out — but if I have these two, I’m armed with everything I need, no matter who I am, no matter where I’m going,” the star told Allure. “I wanted it to work for everybody, for every situation, to take the complexity out of it and just have your essential kit.”
So let’s break down these exciting new products, shall we?
First up is the Kerry Washington x Neutrogena “Essential Eye” Eyeshadow Palette ($12.99), which is packed with five versatile and gorgeous wear-everywhere neutrals. Then, there is the Essential Cheek Palette ($9.99), composed of a universally flattering blush, bronzer, and highlighter trio.
If that all weren’t amazing enough, Kerry also decided to give her color shade names like “Captivating,” “Elegant,” and “Grateful,” which offer an extra added touch of inspiration to your makeup routine.
“Beauty — for me — is not just about how we look, it really is about who we are. So I wanted the names in both palettes to reflect who we are on the inside, the qualities that make us shine bright. Because, our makeup should do that. It should reveal those inner qualities,” the actress shared with People Style. “Beauty doesn’t have to be complicated. It should feel like a bit of luxury in your life, but it shouldn’t be hard. That’s where the idea of the Essential palettes comes from: It’s something that you can put in your purse and know that you’ve got what you need.”
The entire Kerry Washington x Neutrogena makeup collection will be available to shop at Ulta starting on Sunday, April 22, 2018.
