Kathleen Lights recently debuted her new KL Polish Summer 2018 nail polish collection – and it’s one of her most vibrant color ranges yet. If you are a fan of the popular YouTuber and beauty influencer, you know that she’s from Miami and is of Cuban heritage, which is why her new collection, titled “Havana Heat,” hits so close to home.
“Havana Heat is a seriously hot collection that will make you feel like salsa dancing barefoot on the beach,” KL Polish shared in its Summer 2018 lookbook. “With bright tropical tones and deep sumptuous shades, you’ll wanna throw these enticing colors in your suitcase and escape for an island getaway.”
There are six gorgeous new (vegan, cruelty-free, 12-free, chip-resistant) shades as part of this KL Polish collection, and together they not only pay tribute to Kathleen’s personal connections to Cuba – but reference the music, dance, history, and heritage of the culture.
Tropicana (named after the popular Cuban nightclub) is a bright yellow creme polish “that shines like the sun,” according to the brand. Shimmering blue Matanzas (named after the city in Cuba where Kathleen’s parents were born) “matches the waves while you sail away on your dream vacation.” Hot pink Celia was named after Cuban singer Celia Cruz, “La Reina de Cuba,” and “adds some romance to your summer fun.”
You already know that vibrant green Mojito is named after everyone’s favorite Cuban cocktail, and the shade pulls from the island’s lush greenery. Spicy burnt orange Cha Cha Cha was named after the dance that originated in Cuba, and it will seriously make you want to bust a move. Finally, the rich and sexy burnt red shade Cubana obviously references Kathleen’s heritage.
All of these colors and more are available to shop exclusively on the KL Polish website. You can pick up each individual shade for $9.50 a bottle, or catch all six in the limited edition Havana Heat box set for $49.95.
