Karl Lagerfeld certainly knows how to take Paris by storm. After all, the designer has turned the fashion city into his home, his empire, and his artistic inspiration. So it is especially fitting that in order to launch his new cosmetics collaboration with ModelCo, the designer and his team of “Beauty Butlers” decided to take over Paris today, flash mob style! Performers dressed in custom-designed helmets that are a real-life version of the campaign’s 3D cartoon reinterpretation of Karl Lagerfeld and the makeup collection’s toppers, and took to the streets of France.
The “Beauty Butlers” visited iconic locations throughout Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, Les Tuileries, Champs-Elysées, Saint-Germain-des-Près, Montparnasse, and Palais de Tokyo, It’s not all just for show either: the characters invited passersby to join them for special performances at each stop, with a grand finale at Place Vendôme, in front of the Hotel d’Evreux. This space will be transformed into a hot pink neon VIP party where guests will celebrate the new collection later today along with art style installations, cocktails, and Perrier-Jouët champagne, according to a press release.
“The Beauty Butlers storming the streets of Paris represent the bold, fashion oriented and unique attributes of the Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo color cosmetics and collectable range,” Shelley Sullivan, Founder and CEO of ModelCo, shared in a statement. “We achieved our goal of elevating this partnership on a global stage and certainly raised the bar for creativity and style. It was an honor to launch our collection in Paris.”
