Rising model of the moment Kaia Gerber has just landed an exciting new beauty partnership. The 17-year-old star was just named the new makeup ambassador for luxury cosmetics brand, YSL Beauté. She joins quite the impressive fashion family in this endeavor, as top celebrities like Zoë Kravitz and Adam Levine are currently part of the designer beauty label’s latest campaigns.
“To be the new face of YSL Beauté is an opportunity to write a new story full of fun, color and makeup,” the model said in a statement to WWD. “I love the DNA of a brand that is so subversive, while being so luxurious and cool.”
Kaia knows that her platform gives her influence – especially among other teens – and that is something she takes seriously.
“I think these days, everything you do has to be measured with a degree of responsibility,” she added in her interview with the publication. “If there are people who view me as a role model, I really hope to be able to create positive images and messages that inspire others to feel confident about the way they look, to look after themselves and basically be kind to themselves.”
The debut Kaia Gerber YSL Beauté campaign is set to be for January 2019, where she will be wearing the label’s Rouge Volupté Shine. This is an oil-based, moisturizing lipstick that delivers luxe color and beautiful shine – and we know she’ll rock it perfectly. Then, later in 2019, she is expected to be the face of the brand’s mega-popular Touche Éclat concealer and the Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils in additional campaigns.
Kaia took to Instagram to share some of her debut photo shoot images for this partnership. In the photos, she rocks a smoldering navy blue and silver smokey eye look, pale pink lip, and bold brow style created by Tom Pecheux, the Global Beauty Director for YSL Beauté.
The brand couldn’t be more excited to announce Kaia’s partnership – especially since she perfectly embodies the modern YSL girl.
“Kaia is a blossoming talent with a unique sense of style and a stunning beauty,” Stephan Bezy, the international general manager of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté at L’Oréal, said in a press statement. “The perfect embodiment of her generation’s desire for authenticity and edginess, as a muse and ambassador she will convey those values, which entirely resonate with what YSL Beauté stands for.”
