Fifty years after Led Zepplin released their self-titled debut album and went on to become legendary rock icons, fashion designer John Varvatos is commemorating the artists with a luxury menswear capsule collection. The John Varvatos Led Zeppelin collaborative line channels the band’s boundary-pushing rebel attitude into leather jackets, silk bombers, stylish jeans, and more outfit-elevators. Of course, there are also some great band tees.
“Working with Led Zeppelin on this collaboration is a dream come true. Their music and style has had a huge influence on me,” said designer John Varvatos in a press statement. “It’s been incredible developing this collection with the band, and creating clothes that represent the roots of their style, but at the same time are extremely relevant today.”
Most importantly, Varvatos has earned the seal of approval from the band members with this line – and they now share a mutual respect. In a statement, guitarist Jimmy Page explained that he has grown close with Varvatos through teaming up on a variety of projects over the years.
“Having had the great pleasure to work with John personally on numerous collaborations in the past including my book, the Yardbirds, and the John Varvatos Spring 2013 ad campaign with Gary Clark Jr…I’m pleased that there is now a Led Zeppelin collection,” Page said. “I was really impressed with how everything came out.”
“The Varvatos style is unique – he’s out on his own,” added singer Robert Plant. “Above and beyond the crowd below.”
The edgy lookbook for this collection was shot by renowned photographer and director Mark Seliger, and features actor and model Miles McMillan. The full John Varvatos Led Zeppelin collection is now available online at John Varvatos’ own website, at the brand’s retail boutiques, and other specialty stores internationally.
