Jason Wu does it all. You may know the designer best for his breathtaking fashion creations or his romantic celebrity red carpet looks. But now, the creator is celebrating the 1-year anniversary of his debut fragrance’s launch in August 2017 – by releasing a scented Jason Wu fragrance doll. This special commemorative item is bringing his entire portfolio of work full circle.
“I started my career designing dolls about 15 years ago and it was my first career before fashion,” Wu shared via WWD. “[The scented doll] is a nice way to combine that with what I’ve been doing in fashion and fragrance, which is relatively new to me. It’s combining three facets of my career.”
Only 300 of these special edition dolls will be created, and sold exclusively at Net-a-Porter along with a bottle of the popular designer scent for $380. The designer has teamed up with his longtime toy partner, Integrity Toys, to manufacture the limited-edition Jason Wu fragrance doll. While he has a rich history in creating dolls, this is, appropriately, his first-ever scented version.
The posable collectible is styled up in a version of the nude-toned tulle and Swarovski crystal-embroidered dress that Wu designed for model (and fragrance campaign muse) Lily Aldridge. She even shares her sleek brunette locks and smokey eye makeup! Of course, the doll is elegantly accessorized to the max, and comes with her own mini version of the Jason Wu fragrance bottle.

“The idea is to not only be a collectible, but also be a unique way to deliver the scent to the consumer,” the designer shared about his vision for this doll. “It’s the most important point as we are a niche fragrance. It’s important that the product speaks for itself.”
We absolutely love the creative ways the Jason Wu fragrance has blossomed!
Luckily, Jason Wu’s perfume-creating gears are still turning on this exciting one-year anniversary of his beauty debut. According to WWD, the designer has already started working on his second fragrance, and he plans to launch it in early 2019. He is also creating a bigger fragrance collection to launch in the fall of 2020.
