Chinese New Year 2018 will be celebrated on Friday, February 16 – but some of our favorite designers are already celebrating with their themed collections. We are head over heels in love with the stylish Gucci Year of the Dog collection, which features a roundup of good luck gifts, garments, and accessories with a fabulously whimsical touch.
“Introducing the Chinese New Year capsule collection, shot by [Petra Collins] @petrafcollins,” Gucci revealed on the brand’s social media, debuting the first campaign images. “To celebrate the Year of the Dog, a lineup of ready-to-wear and accessories inspired by the faces of Orso and Bosco, the Boston Terriers of #Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele illustrated by @unskilledworker. Their faces feature on the GG motif tote together with Alessandro Michele’s lucky number 25.”
“The whimsical dog motifs of Orso and Bosco which appear on bags, knits, a bomber jacket and denim, were inspired by a pillow given to Alessandro Michele by artist Helen Downie, AKA @unskilledworker, featuring illustrations of his pet Boston Terriers,” the brand added.
While the campaign art focuses on the most glamorous and fashionable pups in the industry, we still have to take a moment to appreciate the amazing products being offered in this range. Printed handbags adorned with the custom terrier illustrations, playful wallets and watches, fun jewelry pieces like rings and pendant necklaces, embroidered sneakers, and more are truly collector’s items.
All of these accessories are now available at Gucci store locations and on the brand’s e-commerce website.
