New York City is officially getting its first-ever tea-themed immersive art pop-up: Room for Tea! This event, running from August 28 – September 22, 2018, is a photo-friendly experience that celebrates art and the city’s rich history of tea.
“New York City is built off diversity, so is the food here. Tea should be considered as more than just a bottle of Snapple, but as an ingredient that has the power to bring people together,” the installation organizers shared on their website. “It stands for different cultures. Every culture has its own adaption here and in NYC we celebrate that!”
As part of your admission price, you will receive access to 5 different tea scenes and 18 visual highlights throughout the space. These sensory highlights at Room for Tea include the Labyrinth of Tea Origin, Milk Tea Metropolis, Matcha Under Cherry Blossom, Summer BOBA Court, and the Mint Tea Secret Box. Plus, all visitors get a free boba tea drink, and a plantable card to grow your own tree. You can also shop an upgraded ticket option, which gives you admission to a special 40-minute tea ceremony.
Be sure to pick up your tickets ahead of time on the organizers’ Showclix website!
