From the summer of 2018 to the earliest days of 2019, the exciting and elegant Chanel Haute Dentelle Exhibition is taking over Cité de la Dentelle et de la Mode in Calais, France. This showing is dedicated to the use of high-end lace in fashion, throughout history and in modern collections, and lace just so happened to be one of Gabrielle Chanel‘s favorite materials.
For this showcase, “Chanel loaned 11 ensembles illustrating the exceptional craftsmanship of the Maison and its Métiers d’art,” the designer label shared on its website. “One of them, an ensemble from the Spring‑Summer 2015 Haute Couture collection photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, was selected for the exhibition poster.”
Stop by the museum to see the Chanel lace display and other fine fashion presentations. The museum is open daily, except for Tuesdays.
