It’s simply not a Pucci collection without intricate fashion prints and dizzying graphics. But the Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2019 collection is exceptionally vibrant, cheery, and playful – and its exuberant lookbook alone is already getting us through these dreary winter months.
Pucci’s new showings are full of clever layers, which blend muted but wild colors with a lovely mix of textiles and textures. Patterned flair pants and pinstripe separates stand out among retro-inspired garments.
Even with all of the swirls of color and pattern, the lookbook for this collection’s designs is one of the designer label’s most minimalist presentations. Ultra-wearable knit sweaters, knife pleated maxi skirts, and chic solid colored turtlenecks balance out the wilder printed blouses and 60s-inspired mod dresses and shiny patent leather-look vinyl mini skirts. Styled with quirky accessories like bucket hats and lucite glasses, the pieces really pop. Plus, shearling coats and velvet tunics give the line a cozy vibe we weren’t quite expecting.
