A little bit of grunge. A whole lot of glam. This is how we can define the eclectic new Coach Resort 2019 – or Pre-Spring season – collection. The Coach 1941 label recently revealed its latest lookbook filled with upcoming men’s and womenswear launches, and the imagery will take you on a specific journey back in time.
The line is inspired by Creative Director Stuart Vevers‘ first trip to Los Angeles when he was 21 years old, especially his visit to Sunset Strip rock nightclub, The Viper Room. “It stuck in my head,” the designer told WWD. He even collaborated directly with the venue to incorporate nostalgia-filled logos and imagery into the latest crop of garments. So it’s no surprise that there is plenty rock and roll inspiration in these stage-inspired looks that iconic artists from decades past would love to sport for concerts and beyond.
The latest Coach seasons have really been taking us around specific pockets of the United States. Most recently, Stuart Vevers has shown us a version of artist Keith Haring‘s New York City and the Western prairies, so it is quite captivating to see this stylish look at the West Coast.
As per the brand’s lookbook, smart layering and unexpected pops of color are reigning supreme in this season. We love the satin bomber jackets, mixed media leather coats, glitter-trimmed pieces, and the elevated “band tee” style tops which are a brilliant mix of 80s and 90s Americana. Now updated for your perfect night-out-on-the-town ensembles.
