What a stylish duo! Cara Delevingne and Matt Smith have officially been revealed as the faces of Burberry’s Holiday 2017 campaign. In a series of new print ads for the iconic label, the brand’s famous plaid print has been re-imagined for truly luxe winter styles.
The celebrity model stars alongside the British actor in the brand’s wonderfully snow-filled new campaign video, filmed by Alasdair McLellan. While the collection itself is fresh and modern, you will get major 1980s vibes from the video itself, which is set to the tune of the Pet Shop Boys’ song “Always on My Mind.” (Cara even sings along!)
Have you ever watched a VHS tape in the middle of a YouTube video before? What a thrilling, nostalgic kind of moment.
Many of the items featured in this campaign are now shoppable online and at Burberry boutiques, but we particularly love seeing the garments come to life on Cara and Matt. Luckily, there is no shortage of glamour in the photos these brand spokesmodels snapped for the brand.
The new holiday collection drop comes amidst more major news at Burberry. Earlier this week, longtime Chief Designer Christopher Bailey, who was part of the brand for 17 years, announced that he will be stepping down from his position in March 2018. This move has left the fashion industry wondering what new direction Burberry will take in upcoming seasons – but for now, this holiday collection is something brilliant and worth celebrating.
“I am so proud to share this new shoot I did with Alasdair McLellan and Matt Smith,” Cara shared about her involvement in the campaign. “Thank you to the creative genius and my dear friend Christopher Bailey for involving me in this and all the incredible projects over the years. It has been and always will be a joy to work with you and the Burberry family.”
