“Havana” singer Camila Cabello has more than one tie to Cuba’s capital city: she was born there, according to her lyrics she left her heart there, and her everyday life in her current home of Miami is influenced by the culture she grew up in. Now, an exciting Camila Cabello makeup line, perfectly called called “Havana,” has been created through the 21-year-old artist’s partnership with L’Oreal. That’s right: a lot of gorgeous new summer-ready, Cuban-inspired cosmetics are on their way!
Camila’s debut collection will consist of eyeliner, brow pencil, eyeshadow singles, several shades in a luxurious glossy lip formula called “lip dew,” and the L’Oreal brand’s first-ever liquid bronzer. Each of these items gives off that glowy, natural finish – like you spent your days on the beach and your evenings dancing. Plus, everything in the currently-announced collection retails for $15 and under, which is a total bonus for a celebrity collaboration this glamorous.
The singer was proudly involved in every step of the campaign, from the actual product ideas themselves to the always-fun shade naming, logo selection, and more.
“I feel like I’ve stepped outside of my comfort zone a lot this year and being able to work with L’Oréal to create my personal collection is such an incredible opportunity,” Camila shared about her collaboration in a new interview with ELLE. “I think the best part of it was really getting to be involved in it picking out the names and the shades and the colors and the packaging design. I just felt like it was so much fun to make products that I would wear. The samples that I had, I use them on myself now. It was important to me that they would work well on different kinds of skin tones because that’s really important to me, and I feel like all of my fans are going to be able to use it and love it.”
“I just knew I wanted to make a makeup line that was natural,” she added. “If I’m not on stage or doing an award show performance, I really don’t like wearing a lot of makeup. I feel like this line is really an expression of what I would wear. It’s glowy and simple.”
