B.K.A.A. – Buki Koshoni Art and Apparel – has officially released its debut collection, titled Fck Fashion. The brand has unveiled a line of unisex satin and cotton bomber jackets that feature the striking graphic design of photographic art prints.
For London-based designer Buki Koshoni, creating B.K.A.A. was a “natural step,” that gave him “a platform to tie together and express different elements of his social outlooks and stylistic beliefs.” He has previously worked on photo commissions for fashion publications internationally – and now, all art and imagery used in this collection’s fabric and garments is custom-made for the label. In fact, most of the photos that adorn the debut collection’s jackets were taken during the latest London Fashion Week.
The brand was founded to be an expressive outlet that followed the ideals and ethos of the artist himself, linking his multi-disciplinary work across photography, film, and fashion.
“I wanted to create a brand that gave me the creative freedom and artistic license to be my unfiltered self. This is an amalgamation of my cultural diaspora, aesthetic bible and cultural activism,” the artist shared in a statement.
“As a fine art photographer, Koshoni’s desire was to break out [of] the gallery, to create mobile artworks that seamless fit into everyday life,” the brand explained. This collection does this by blending the comfortable and wearable appeal of street style pieces with the expert tailoring of more formal garments.
Each piece feels special and unique, and makes a bold impact – just like the artist intended.
