Billy Los Angeles, designed by Holly Joevnall, is all about comfort and street style essentials. The brand has just unveiled its Spring/Summer 2018 collection called “Establishment,” and its accompanying lookbook – which are filled with must-have basics and military-inspired silhouettes.
“Billy Los Angeles’ comfortable basics are versatile and can be elevated or slouched in. Designed as menswear, all of the brand’s pieces are adaptable as unisex,” the brand shared in a press release. “Attention to silhouette brings a casual-elegance, enhanced by hand distressed and hand screened details. Paying homage to visionaries like Yohji Yamamoto and Rick Owens, Jovenall’s designs are foundational but subversive in their proportions and bend simplicity into something entirely new.
The brand, founded in 2017, typically favors black and white styles, but the Spring/Summer 2018 season is the brand’s first intro of color, with, as the brand describes, “greens and lavenders sourced from the best tones of weathered vintage fabric.”
“Sometimes when you want to achieve minimalism, it’s more,” designer Holly Jovenall shared about the brand’s aesthetic.
In the SS18 lookbook – shot by Ben Cope – all of these effortlessly wearable designs are modeled by Simon Kotyk. As you swipe through the collection imagery, you’ll realize it’s no wonder stars like Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifa, and Kim Kardashian West are already early-adopter fans of this emerging brand.
