View Kris Van Assche’s Debut Berluti Spring 2019 Menswear Collection Lookbook

Slick suits and modern silhouettes are to be expected from former Dior Homme designer Kris Van Assche, and now he is showing these styles off in a new way – along with some street style-ready sportswear. The Berluti Spring 2019 season marks the menswear designer’s brand debut, ahead of his first runway presentation scheduled to go down in January 2019.

“I have always wanted to build bridges between the savoir-faire, the heritage of a house and my clear-cut contemporary vision,” Van Assche said about his appointment. As Artistic Director, he will be in charge of creating Berluti’s latest lines of shoes, leather goods, ready-to-wear, and accessories.

“[CEO of the House] Antoine Arnault spoke to me of his ambitions for Berluti and it is with great pleasure that I accept this new challenge which fits perfectly with my own will and vision,” he added. “I would also like to thank Mr. Bernard Arnault for his renewed confidence.”

Berluti Spring 2019 Menswear

This first collection for Berluti was originally presented only to buyers in showroom appointments, so fashion fans missed out on a Fashion Week spectacle. But now, the label has released a striking series of lookbook photos that were taken in the brand’s manufacturing facility in Ferrara, Italy.

In this collection, you’ll find rockstar-approved black leather pieces, including tailored blazers and garment patches. You will also spot more casual suit styles, including graphic printed t-shirts, crewneck sweaters, and more wardrobe staples. The more effortlessly cool pieces are a stark contrast to luxurious accessories like alligator and ombré colored briefcases – but it makes for a compelling collection.

The entire Berluti Spring 2019 menswear line will be available to shop in stores and online starting on January 15, 2019.
