It may be because I grew up in the American northeast, where the difference between seasons can feel extreme and temperatures vary from day, but I have always craved a seasonless wardrobe. Without having to worry about being too cold, too hot, too clammy, or too overdressed, I imagined that styling outfits and layering pieces to my heart’s content would be so much easier. That never-ending dream season is exactly the one the Balmain Resort 2019 collection is also trying to capture.
To me, a forever summer would mean experimenting with tons of colors in my fashions, weaving the watercolor sunsets into fabric designs, and dressing like I was on permanent vacation – or moments away from a glamorous VIP party. The Balmain Resort 2019 collection lookbooks for men and womenswear have been revealed, and each of the images capture this festive and luxurious vibe perfectly. Tons of sparkle, luxurious fabrics, and truly original color combinations rule this line.

If you are absolutely loving what you’re seeing from the latest Balmain fashions, you should also be thrilled to hear that Olivier Rousteing is also currently working on a fashion documentary (due out in Spring 2019) about how his own life led him to the brand.
“It’s my story mixed with the Balmain story — the success of the house and the success of the boy and how it’s sometimes a struggle to get where we are,” he shared with Footwear News about the topic. “It’s about me coming from nowhere, how I grew up Bordeaux but also going even further back. I think my life is something of a fashion paradox.”
Rousteing was named Creative Director of the designer label in 2011, when he was just 25 years old, and has already made such a huge name for himself. Now, audiences are going to learn even more about the human being behind the iconic wearable art.— Kristine Hope Kowalski
